Presentation Title: Agile for Grownups

Bio:
Stéphane Parent is a 40-year IT veteran in the fields of government, health care and manufacturing. With thirty of those years in project management, Stéphane has worked on projects with teams as small as a handful up to well over 100 members. Stéphane recently closed a 3-year project that used a scaled Agile approach. Stéphane obtained his Agile Certified Professional certification in 2020.

Understanding that leadership is a vital tool in each person’s arsenal, Stéphane joined Toastmasters in 2007 to develop and apply his leadership skills. Stéphane holds the Distinguished Toastmaster designation, the highest Toastmasters award.

Presentation Abstract:

We love Agile. Agile allows small teams to be nimble, flexible, and responsible. What happens when you scale Agile up to bigger projects? Can you still reap the benefits of Agile? What are some of the pitfalls?

When you execute a three-year scaled Agile project with over eight Scrum team, you learn many lessons. These lessons run the full gamut across project cost, scope and schedule management. Oh… and people, let’s not forget the people.

Large Agile projects will stretch the skills, knowledge and experience of every project stakeholder beyond the points of no return.
