Speaker Bio:
Rick Czaplewski is a PMP, CPA, and MBA. Rick has trained hundreds of business practitioners including project managers, engineers, estimators, field services staff, site staff, administrators, and senior management across multiple organizations in topics such as customer service, negotiation, mentorship, conflict resolution, process improvement, organizational design, interpersonal dynamics and difficult conversations. His unique position as a 28-year, 2x cancer survivor and professional speaker (NSA – Wisconsin Chapter) make him an equally effective and entertaining trainer for your organization. Together we can substantially improve your team’s negotiation skills, negotiated outcomes, and ability to close out complicated business problems.
January 8th: Introduction to Project Manager Negotiation – Topics: Establishing the negotiating environment, partnership approach, communication styles, managing difficult customers. The Negotiation Framework.
February 5th: Preparation – Financial and qualitative preparation for negotiation.
March 5th: Negotiation Tactics Part 1 - Change Management, handling scope creep, off-project financing sources, the Bargaining Cycle.
April TBD: Negotiation Tactics Part 2 and Closure – Examples: managing anger, recognizing common tricks, handling deadlocks/patterns, closure.
