Presentation Description:
Trust is always growing, adapting, changing, and occasionally breaking. Broken trust keeps people up at night. Underlying every successful business is trust. Perhaps the most important concept of trust is self-trust.
One bad apple spoils the rest. With a handful of employees betraying consumer trust, there is mistrust of "who can I trust who has no hidden agenda?" I focus on solutions in restoring trust. When trust is broken, we spend more time repairing, less time preparing. Sometimes it is not worthwhile, trying to restore trust.
Re-building damaged trust takes time, effort, money, and lot of energy. Trust takes a lifetime to build, and seconds to break. So, when you have trust in place, hold on to it like you are carrying a fragile glass vase- use utmost caution to not damage or shatter it.
Trustworthy work environments are happier, high performing, solve problems quicker, they get each other’s backs, and hold on to the right employees while slowly letting go of the shady ones. Determine if it is worthwhile re-building damaged trust. Use phrases such as “I am sorry,” “tell me what I can do to fix my error,” and “Thank you. I should have said it sooner” help to mend things.
