Presentation Title: EQ Advantage: Emotionally Intelligent Workplaces

Speaker Bio:

Connie Holmes is the founder of Confidence with Connie, where she empowers professionals and organizations to lead with clarity, courage, and influence. With more than 30 years of corporate leadership experience spanning manufacturing, medical association management, and family business ownership, Connie brings a uniquely well-rounded perspective on leadership, organizational effectiveness, and human potential.

As an accomplished leader, she built a reputation for excellence in project management, volunteer leadership, and community relations, holding senior leadership roles focused on strategic planning and program development that advanced the mission and expanded organizational impact.

Today, Connie is the founder and CEO of her own business where she combines her credentials as a master life coach, award-winning hypnotherapist, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) specialist, and instructor to help people become the version of themselves who can reach any goal. She lives this mission as a business owner, author, trainer, and keynote speaker. She is also a mindfulness instructor at an addiction recovery center, where she blends evidence-based tools with compassion to support long-term transformation.

Connie’s commitment to service extends into her community, where she currently holds board positions with two nonprofit organizations. Having been both a staff leader guiding volunteers and a volunteer leader herself, she offers a dual perspective on what makes associations and nonprofits thrive.

Her professional expertise, combined with her passion for empowering people to move from simply reacting to life to intentionally owning it, has positioned her as a sought-after speaker on influential leadership, effective communication, emotional intelligence, and the power of values-driven engagement.

Presentation Description:

During this 60-minute presentation, participants will understand why EQ is a critical leadership advantage in life and the workplace. From research and real-life examples, it will indicate why a high EQ complements performance, influence, and team success more than IQ alone, especially during complex, time and detail-sensitive projects.

Designed specifically for professionals, you will have strategies and tools to enhance collaboration, navigate challenging conversations, and lead with greater clarity and understanding within projects, teams, and departments. This training will support individual professionals with their leadership abilities as well as enhance team performance.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Define Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and explain its impact on leadership effectiveness, team performance, and project success.
  2. Review data that indicates why a high EQ is just as important and effective as a high IQ as it relates to collaborations, cross-functional teams, and overall effectiveness within business objectives.
  3. Recognize self-awareness and self-regulation techniques to better lead under pressure to increase connection, support accountability, improve decision-making, and ensure project completion and excellence.
  4. Apply strategies and techniques for recognizing others’ emotions to maintain effective communication, efficient collaboration, along with trust and team building within in-person, virtual, and hybrid project teams.
  5. Implement emotionally intelligent communication practices to reduce conflict, enhance clarity, and improve stakeholder engagement across all phases of the project lifecycle.
